Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to oversee key Water and Wastewater Infrastructure projects within a long-term AMP8 programme. In this hybrid position, you will lead a multidisciplinary team, driving design management, delivery, and assurance while promoting sustainable and innovative design practices. This role will provide an opportunity to significantly impact the delivery of complex capital projects in the water sector.
Responsibilities
- Lead design management and design delivery for major water infrastructure projects.
- Manage multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinate design activities.
- Oversee design assurance and ensure compliance with technical governance standards.
- Develop and manage design programmes, budgets, and project risks.
- Implement low carbon design, DfMA, and sustainability initiatives.
- Lead design reviews and stakeholder engagement meetings.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements
- Significant experience as a Senior Design Manager or similar role in Water Infrastructure or Civil Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of design management principles and methodologies.
- Experience with NEC4 contracts, BIM, and ISO 19650 compliance.
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex projects.
- Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement and project management.
- Experience in risk management and technical assurance processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Qualification as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) is preferred.
