Overview
The IT Transition Manager will play a pivotal role in a major transformation of technology and cyber security services within a leading UK organization. This contract position demands the candidate to lead the seamless migration of Managed Service Provider and Security Operations Centre capabilities to new providers while managing various stakeholders and ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the transition of Managed Service Provider and Security Operations Centre capabilities.
- Manage risks and dependencies throughout the transition process.
- Coordinate knowledge transfer between incumbent suppliers and incoming providers.
- Drive the transition plan and ensure operational readiness.
- Hold suppliers accountable and lead governance meetings.
- Oversee testing, service acceptance, cutover, hypercare, and handover into business-as-usual operations.
- Report to senior stakeholders on progress and challenges.
Requirements
- Proven experience in leading MSP, outsourcing or complex technology transitions.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL and operational readiness processes.
- Experience with Service Desk, End User Computing, and Microsoft cloud services.
- Excellent supplier and senior stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to operate at both strategic and detailed delivery levels.
- Competence in resolving risks, issues, and blockers effectively.
- Prior experience in SOC or cyber security transitions is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with private equity-backed, acquisition-led, or multi-site environments is an advantage.
