Overview
The Java Software Engineer will join the Trading Technology team in an energy trading company, focused on building the core platform that supports trading operations. This role is crucial for enhancing foundational components of the trading stack such as order management systems, market data infrastructure, and cloud deployment tools, enabling digital trading across the business.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain core components of the trading platform.
- Implement order management systems and facilitate exchange connectivity.
- Design and enhance market data infrastructure and messaging systems.
- Ensure robust replay and recovery mechanisms are in place.
- Deploy solutions to the cloud and enhance operational tooling.
- Monitor platform observability and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with trading teams to enhance real-time and quantitative trading capabilities.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a strong Java developer with a focus on low-latency engineering.
- Experience in building distributed, event-driven, or high-throughput systems.
- Strong understanding of Linux-based operating environments.
- Proficient in concurrent and multi-threaded programming.
- Experience with messaging, networking, or data-intensive application programming.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Experience with sequencer architecture is a plus.
