Overview
The M&E Resident Engineer position focuses on providing critical support in hyperscale data centers across the UK and Europe, ensuring operational readiness and management of electrical and mechanical infrastructure. The successful candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders while addressing the unique challenges posed by live operational facilities in major data center environments.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee critical facilities operations.
- Handle electrical and mechanical infrastructure management, including HV/LV systems.
- Ensure the functionality of UPS, generators, and cooling systems.
- Execute switching procedures and control permit processes.
- Support commissioning and handover processes.
- Develop and implement SOP, MOP, and EOP documentation.
- Facilitate operational readiness and transition activities.
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships, and respond to incidents as necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience in data center operations is essential.
- Mechanical or Electrical bias is considered for suitability.
- Strong understanding of critical infrastructure and systems.
- Ability to work within highly regulated environments.
- Eligibility to work in the UK and/or Europe is required.
