Overview
We are seeking a Network Engineer for a remote, project-based contract role to lead the design, deployment, and optimization of enterprise network infrastructure. The contractor will collaborate closely with a global engineering team, contributing to critical telecommunications projects, particularly in healthcare environments. This position requires extensive expertise in Cisco ACI and SDA technologies, focusing on ensuring the resilience, efficiency, and compliance of network systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure) and SDA (Software-Defined Access) solutions.
- Configure and manage ACI fabric operations, including tenants and VRFs.
- Oversee data center migration projects to ensure optimal uptime and integration with existing networks.
- Architect and deploy Disaster Recovery solutions for healthcare data centers.
- Implement network automation frameworks using Terraform and Ansible.
- Manage and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 networks, enhancing performance for real-time applications.
- Design and enforce network security and segmentation strategies compliant with healthcare standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize network infrastructure across multiple locations.
Requirements
- Proven experience with Cisco ACI, including APIC administration and fabric operations.
- Hands-on expertise with SDA deployment and managing Catalyst Center environments.
- Strong knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Experience with healthcare-related network practices, including clinical segmentation and resiliency.
- Proficiency in network automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Python.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills utilizing CLI, packet analysis, and telemetry data.
- Experience in multi-site or multi-pod ACI architectures is a plus.
- Familiarity with firewall and load-balancer integration in data center environments is desirable.
