Painting QC Inspector

Overview

As a Painting QC Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all coating and painting operations comply with relevant codes, standards, and quality control procedures. You will be responsible for conducting inspections and documenting the quality assurance process, collaborating closely with supervisors and quality control teams to identify and report any non-conformances. Your expertise will be integral in maintaining high standards of quality and safety in painting activities, particularly within the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Execute inspections on materials, equipment, and construction activities according to the Quality Control Plan.
  • Issue quality records and non-conformance reports as necessary through relevant software.
  • Verify the proper storage and certification of materials and calibration certificates.
  • Witness and perform qualifications of coating processes.
  • Check surface preparation and record atmospheric conditions prior to painting operations.
  • Carry out wet and dry film thickness checks to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Monitor color coding and visual inspections before and after blasting operations.
  • Perform adhesion, penetration, and impact testing as required.

Requirements

  • Experienced inspector with a strong background in coatings and painting inspection within the oil and gas industry.
  • Thorough understanding of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and quality control standards.
  • Hands-on coating and painting inspection experience is essential.
  • Certification from NACE or FROSIO at level 2 is required.
  • Proven ability to identify defects and ensure compliance with project specifications.
