Overview
We are seeking a Planning Engineer with expertise in Offshore Wind, Transportation & Installation (T&I), and decommissioning projects. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Planning Manager and the Project Controls team to develop and maintain project schedules, providing critical support during the tendering process as well as throughout the project lifecycle. This position is ideal for experienced candidates with a strong background in offshore construction, particularly within the Oil & Gas or wind sectors.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed project schedules in line with contractual requirements and internal standards.
- Review schedule feasibility, identifying constraints, risks, and critical activities.
- Implement and maintain project planning and progress control systems.
- Monitor progress against baseline and report on schedule deviations.
- Develop and maintain 90-day look-ahead, weekly, and monthly schedules.
- Assist in preparation of project status and progress reports.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and project management teams to ensure schedule awareness.
- Support contract amendments and participate in project risk management activities.
Requirements
- Strong experience as a Planning Engineer or in Project Controls for major offshore construction projects.
- Proven experience in Offshore Wind projects, or relevant Offshore Oil & Gas installations.
- Experience with tendering and bid-stage planning activities.
- Familiarity with Transportation & Installation (T&I) projects.
- Knowledge and experience with schedule impacts, variations, claims, and time impact analysis.
- Proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- HNC, HND or bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, project controls, or a related discipline.
- Candidates must have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
