Planning Manager

Overview

As a Planning Manager for major water projects, you will be instrumental in overseeing the planning, monitoring, and control of significant capital projects. Collaborating within the programme delivery team, you will ensure that project schedules accurately reflect performance across various disciplines and stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making and programme alignment with strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain integrated programme schedules for complex projects.
  • Ensure the Integrated Master Schedule aligns with objectives and contractual commitments.
  • Identify gaps and conflicts within the programme that may affect delivery.
  • Monitor schedule performance and escalate significant risks to stakeholders.
  • Translate complex data into insights for business decisions and reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve scheduling issues.
  • Support governance processes and schedule quality assurance activities.
  • Contribute to scenario planning and quantitative schedule risk analysis.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Controls, or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in managing programmes within water infrastructure or major civil projects.
  • Strong track record in developing integrated schedules across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with NEC and/or FIDIC contract environments.
  • Understanding of programme management interfaces with commercial and project controls.
  • Experience in schedule risk analysis and performance reporting.
  • Knowledge of regulatory processes and project governance requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to provide executive-level insights.
