Overview
The Principal AI Consultant will play a pivotal role in a leading financial institution's efforts to enhance its AI delivery capabilities. This position involves shaping and delivering next-generation enterprise AI solutions, particularly focusing on AI-powered trading recommendations based on client behavior and market predictions. Working closely with business stakeholders and engineering teams, the consultant will take on technical leadership while ensuring compliance with governance and validation standards in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Define the technical direction for AI solutions in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Lead the development and implementation of AI-powered trading recommendation systems.
- Ensure solutions meet governance, validation, and model-risk requirements.
- Engage with engineering teams to transition concepts from initial stages to production.
- Conduct hands-on technical work in AI, including model validation and feature engineering.
- Provide expertise in machine learning, LLMs, and AI orchestration.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial engineering or data science.
- Proven track record of deploying commercial AI/ML systems into production.
- Strong expertise in Python, machine learning, and feature engineering.
- Experience with large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic workflows.
- Familiarity with model validation, explainability, and enterprise governance practices.
- Ability to navigate ambiguous requirements and make technical decisions collaboratively.
- Experience in capital markets or Tier-1 banking is advantageous.
