Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a dynamic multi-channel retail organization on a six-month contract. The contractor will focus on maintaining the existing data platform while supporting the transition to Databricks, collaborating closely with the data engineering team and business stakeholders to ensure efficient data processes and operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and support existing data pipelines, processes, and infrastructure.
- Manage BAU data engineering requirements and troubleshoot production issues.
- Monitor pipeline performance, data quality, and reliability.
- Support the wider migration to Databricks where required.
- Collaborate with the existing data engineering team and business stakeholders on data initiatives.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience as a Data Engineer.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks.
- Strong Python, PySpark, and SQL skills.
- Experience building, maintaining, and supporting data pipelines.
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms.
- Background in retail, e-commerce, or another large customer-facing business is highly beneficial.
