We are seeking a skilled Senior Python Developer to join a high-profile digital transformation initiative focused on cloud-based application development. In this fully remote position, you will collaborate with a diverse team of architects, testers, and product owners to design and enhance robust Python applications. The role emphasizes production-grade software engineering, requiring substantial experience in application architecture and modern development practices.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain robust Python applications and services within a modern cloud environment.
- Develop backend and middleware components including business logic, integrations and RESTful APIs.
- Support the integration of front-end applications with backend services.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable software solutions.
- Design and implement secure, high-performing APIs and enterprise integrations.
- Build, deploy and support application components within AWS environments.
- Develop comprehensive automated tests to ensure quality and maintainability.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
Requirements
- Extensive commercial experience developing production-grade applications using Python.
- Strong background building web applications and backend services.
- Experience designing and developing secure REST APIs.
- Strong understanding of multi-tier application architecture and design principles.
- Solid AWS experience, including application deployment and operation within cloud-native environments.
- Strong knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices.
- Experience implementing automated testing and developing maintainable, testable software.
- Ability to take ownership of complex technical components throughout the software development lifecycle.
