Overview
We are looking for a Staff Full Stack Engineer (Contract) to join a rapidly expanding technology business focused on modernizing its platform. This role involves collaborating with a dedicated engineering team to design, develop, and maintain high-performance systems using Rust and Java, with React and Python as secondary technologies. The contract allows for complete remote work and is ideal for candidates with a strong background in full stack development who thrive in a dynamic, product-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable backend services using Rust and Java.
- Build reliable, high-performance customer-facing applications with React and Python.
- Take ownership of complex features from architectural design to production delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful software solutions.
- Influence architectural decisions and engineering standards across the platform.
- Apply best practices for performance, reliability, and security in development.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, and debugging.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a Senior or Staff-level Full Stack / Backend Engineer.
- Strong backend engineering skills in Rust and/or Java, with commercial exposure preferred.
- Proficiency in developing frontend applications using React.
- Hands-on experience with Python, including backend API development.
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and scalable architecture.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools in engineering workflows.
- Proven ability to onboard quickly and deliver value effectively.
- Experience influencing technical direction at a Staff Engineer level is strongly preferred.
