Overview
The Product Owner will play a crucial role within a Commodities trading firm, focusing on the management of digital products used by both internal traders and clients. Collaborating closely with business stakeholders, particularly traders, the Product Owner will shape product requirements, oversee the delivery roadmap, and ensure that the development team maintains momentum in product delivery. This position is pivotal in optimizing the trading process by transforming market intelligence and logistical capabilities into effective digital solutions.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the delivery roadmap for digital products used by the trading team.
- Collaborate with internal traders to gather and shape product requirements.
- Write user stories and run refinement sessions with the engineering team.
- Monitor product performance by tracking and reviewing key metrics.
- Facilitate prioritization discussions to align product enhancements with business needs.
- Act as the main point of contact for traders and manage client requests for product customization.
- Ensure product development processes remain agile and responsive to changing requirements.
- Liaise with external providers to enhance product offerings related to trading operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in a trading environment.
- Strong knowledge of physical trading, freight, LNG, and logistics.
- Experience in managing digital products, preferably in financial services or commodities.
- Ability to write clear and concise user stories and gather detailed requirements.
- Experience with agile methodologies and managing backlogs.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret product performance metrics.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams.
