Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Contract Project Manager to lead an operational recovery project, focusing on physical site delivery and collaboration with affected teams. The role involves developing a comprehensive recovery plan, managing contractor relationships, and facilitating temporary operational arrangements during the transition. This position requires close collaboration with site teams and stakeholders to ensure swift progress in restoring operational capacity following business disruption.
Responsibilities
- Own the recovery plan with clear milestones and dependencies.
- Coordinate facilities, premises, and equipment work with contractors and suppliers.
- Build trusted relationships with site teams and subcontractors, resolving issues and managing escalations.
- Oversee the people workstream, including communications and changes in working arrangements.
- Support temporary operations and manage the phased return to stable service.
- Collaborate with insurers and loss adjusters to maintain documentation and coordinate decisions.
- Manage budgets, risks, and issues, providing clear reporting to senior leadership.
- Complete handover into business-as-usual operations and document lessons learned for future continuity planning.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing physical projects like site relocations or refurbishments.
- Strong background in managing contractors, suppliers, and budgets.
- Demonstrated ability in people and change management during disruptions.
- Ability to handle difficult conversations and resolve disagreements.
- Practical knowledge of service maintenance during physical works.
- Excellent organizational skills with clear communication practices.
- Previous experience in site recovery or insurance claims is beneficial but not essential.
