Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the implementation of a significant business systems project within a public sector environment. This role requires collaboration with senior leaders, operational teams, and technical specialists to ensure successful project delivery from initiation through to post-implementation. The Project Manager will drive stakeholder engagement, coordinate change activities, and facilitate decision-making processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of business systems implementation including go-live and post-implementation phases.
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans for deployment, cutover, testing, and readiness activities.
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes, managing defects and resolutions.
- Identify and escalate risks, issues, and dependencies proactively to mitigate impacts.
- Maintain stakeholder engagement and momentum across multiple workstreams.
- Oversee organizational change, ensuring user engagement and adoption across the organization.
- Translate technical changes into clear operational impacts and meaningful business outcomes.
- Facilitate workshops and project meetings to drive decision-making and collaboration.
Requirements
- Proven experience in managing business systems implementations and go-live activities.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior leaders.
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Demonstrated capability to influence and lead delivery without direct authority.
- Experience with risk and issue management, including mitigation strategies.
- Strong project planning skills, particularly in deployment and post-implementation phases.
- Experience coordinating UAT and managing defects.
- Background in organizational change management, focusing on user adoption and engagement.
