Overview
The Contract Robotics Controls Engineer will join a team focused on developing and optimizing autonomous robotic solutions within the robotics industry. This role involves hands-on work with C++, ROS, and motion control systems, providing an opportunity to contribute to innovative technology solutions in an engaging environment.
Responsibilities
- Assess IR35 status for contracting arrangements.
- Support the development and optimization of an autonomous robotic platform.
- Tune and optimize motor performance, including stepper motors.
- Troubleshoot and resolve motion-control issues.
- Enhance the smoothness, reliability, and overall performance of robotic systems.
- Understand existing systems and diagnose complex motion-control problems.
- Develop and integrate bespoke motion-control solutions.
Requirements
- Experience in C++ development for robotics applications.
- Proficient in ROS and ROS2.
- Hands-on experience with stepper motors and associated motor controllers.
- Familiarity with robotics controls and motion control methodologies.
- Expertise in motor tuning, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with trajectory and motion planning for multi-axis robotic systems.
- Ability to work with Nanotec stepper motors and controllers.
