Overview
The role involves joining a skilled engineering team to work on high-integrity Windows applications for a reputable technology and engineering business. The contract is for an initial period of 6-12 months, focusing on software development using C#, WPF, and WinForms, in a fully onsite environment due to the nature of the projects. Candidates must possess current SC or DV security clearance to qualify for this position.
Responsibilities
- Analyse customer and system requirements and translate them into maintainable software designs.
- Develop Windows applications using C#, WPF/XAML, and WinForms.
- Contribute across software development, integration, and testing processes.
- Develop and implement automated unit tests.
- Participate in code reviews and produce appropriate technical documentation.
- Investigate and resolve software issues effectively.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary engineering team and take ownership of individual deliverables.
- Produce high-quality software for secure and high-integrity applications.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience in Windows application development.
- Proficiency in C#, WPF, and XAML.
- Experience with WinForms and cross-platform development using .NET MAUI or similar.
- Familiarity with source control systems like Git, SVN, or CVS.
- Working knowledge of SQL databases, such as MySQL or SQLite.
- Understanding of networking protocols, including HTTP and SNMP.
- Experience in automated unit testing and technical documentation.
- Current SC or DV Security Clearance is mandatory for this role.
