Overview
We are seeking an experienced Virtualisation & Platform Engineer with active SC or DV clearance to support and maintain complex, highly secure infrastructure environments. The contractor will work primarily onsite in London 2-3 days per week, focusing on designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise virtualisation and platform solutions, with an emphasis on automation and modern infrastructure technologies.
Responsibilities
- Design enterprise virtualisation and platform solutions to meet business needs.
- Deploy and support VMware vCenter and vSAN in secure environments.
- Implement automation and infrastructure as code using Terraform, PowerShell, or PowerCLI.
- Support and optimize Omnissa / VMware Horizon VDI.
- Collaborate with teams on infrastructure management and troubleshooting.
- Ensure secure and highly available infrastructure configurations.
- Develop Python scripts to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Active SC or DV clearance required.
- Strong experience with VMware vCenter and vSAN.
- Proficient in supporting Omnissa / VMware Horizon VDI.
- Solid understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerized platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across complex infrastructure and platform environments.
- Experience with Python development and scripting in infrastructure contexts.
