Overview
We are seeking a Security Engineer (Contractor) to collaborate closely with Technical Project Managers and the Solution Design Team to create essential security deliverables for various projects. This role focuses on ensuring that security considerations are embedded in all engineering decisions while maintaining compliance with security standards and frameworks. The contractor will also support the generation of security documentation and collaborate with design and test teams to ensure the successful implementation of security architectures.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Technical Project Managers and the Solution Design Team to produce security deliverables.
- Provide security authority and guidance throughout the engineering process.
- Develop and maintain project-level security documentation.
- Support assurance processes for all project security outputs.
- Deliver an integrated, layered Security Architecture.
- Identify risk mitigations to align with the Accreditors risk appetite.
- Liaise with customer Security representatives to produce necessary artifacts.
- Assist in secure configuration and integration activities, ensuring compatibility with security design.
Requirements
- Experience in the defence sector, particularly with Security Architectural Frameworks like IS1&2 and ISO27001.
- Proven track record in security designs for large, complex systems across all project lifecycle phases.
- Experience with compliance to frameworks such as SANS, NIST SP 800-53, and NATO NCIA Standards.
- Ability to produce security documentation and support security accreditation processes.
- Familiarity with security standards, policies, and guidelines applicable to defence and scientific contexts.
- Ability to obtain a required level of UK Security clearance.
