Overview
This role seeks a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to facilitate a significant digital transformation for a retail business. The contractor will be instrumental in migrating existing platforms to an advanced MACH architecture and enhancing cloud infrastructure and automation. They will collaborate closely with engineering and development teams to implement best practices in DevOps across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Support the migration of platforms to an event-driven MACH architecture.
- Enhance cloud infrastructure and deployment practices.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines with tools like GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
- Utilize Kubernetes and Docker for container orchestration.
- Monitor and ensure observability of cloud systems.
- Drive the adoption of DevOps best practices within engineering teams.
- Provide guidance on cloud networking and security.
Requirements
- Proven experience with AWS services, including Lambda, ECS, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience with CI/CD processes and tools such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
- Expertise in containerization technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures and their implementation.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and automation practices.
- Experience working in cloud-native environments and driving DevOps initiatives.
