Overview
The Senior GCP Cloud Engineer will take on a hands-on role focused on building cloud infrastructure for a high-volume data platform used in AI technology, particularly in the defence and national security sectors. Working fully remote within the UK timezone, this contractor will engage in the development of GCP infrastructure and enable real-time data processing for millions of endpoints. This position offers an immediate start for engineers comfortable with coding and infrastructure automation, rather than purely architectural planning.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain GCP cloud infrastructure utilizing Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
- Develop and implement infrastructure to support high-volume data ingestion, storage, and processing pipelines.
- Automate infrastructure deployment using Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Work closely with real-time data environments to ensure efficient processing and management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver infrastructure solutions that meet project requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in GCP cloud infrastructure engineering and deployment.
- Strong expertise in Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
- Experience working in high-volume data environments and managing real-time data processes.
- Familiarity with automation and Infrastructure as Code tools and practices.
- Eligible for SC Clearance, with current or previous clearance being a strong advantage.
