Overview
We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our Settlements team within the financial services sector on a 12-month initial contract basis. This hybrid role will involve hands-on engineering work focused on developing and enhancing software that supports complex post-trade and settlement workflows, collaborating with both engineering teams and business stakeholders in a dynamic financial markets environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Server Side Java/JVM applications for settlement and post-trade processes.
- Build robust, scalable services using Spring and Spring Boot.
- Collaborate with engineers and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Contribute to technical design, development, testing, and production delivery.
- Work with Kubernetes, event-driven architecture, and cloud infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, taking ownership through to resolution.
- Engage in greenfield and brownfield development projects.
- Adapt to changing requirements in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Strong commercial Java/JVM development experience.
- Proficient in Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.
- Experience developing Server Side applications in complex environments.
- Strong Linux skills.
- Experience within financial services or similarly complex transactional environments.
- Desirable knowledge in post-trade or settlements; experience with equities settlement is a plus.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with cloud services like AWS and/or Azure.
