Overview
We are seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to contribute to a Defence intelligence platform by designing and building secure, API-driven microservices. You will work in a collaborative environment where your expertise in Java and Spring Boot will be critical in delivering essential services that support real-time operational decisions. This role is contract-based and requires active DV clearance, with on-site work in London for four days a week.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop Java-based microservices using Spring Boot.
- Build secure RESTful APIs to support task management and workflow services.
- Implement workflow orchestration and telemetry solutions.
- Integrate with enterprise data sources and existing Defence systems.
- Support containerization and cloud-native deployments using CI/CD practices.
- Apply secure coding and monitoring best practices throughout development.
Requirements
- Active DV Security Clearance is required.
- Proven experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Solid understanding of REST API design and consumption.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar containerization technologies.
- Experience with CI/CD and DevSecOps practices is essential.
