Overview
The DevOps and Automation Engineer will work closely with the DevOps and Automation Manager to develop and implement a comprehensive DevOps and Automation roadmap, focusing on innovative solutions such as agentic AI and ephemeral environments. This role involves collaboration with IT Delivery Managers and requires driving automation adoption, modernizing CI/CD practices, and enhancing observability while promoting continuous learning within the team.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with IT Delivery Managers to identify DevOps support needs for upcoming projects.
- Agree on project priorities with the IT Delivery Manager and provide progress updates.
- Develop and document installation and configuration procedures for deployments.
- Create knowledge articles for the wider DevOps team to facilitate project support.
- Manage configuration, release, and environment management for technology estates.
- Drive the adoption of agentic-first automation for end-to-end solutions.
- Build Automation-as-a-Service solutions enabling business teams to manage their processes.
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and deployment orchestration.
Requirements
- Proven experience in DevOps practices and automation tools.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Azure Pipelines and GitHub Actions.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Experience in configuration management using Ansible and OctopusDeploy.
- Knowledge of low-code automation platforms like Power Automate or UiPath.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an agile environment and engage in innovation sprints.
- Strong understanding of security practices in software development life cycle (SDLC).
