DevOps And Automation Engineer

Overview

The DevOps and Automation Engineer will work closely with the DevOps and Automation Manager to execute the DevOps and Automation roadmap, focusing on creating ephemeral environments and enhancing automation. The role requires collaboration with IT Delivery Managers to align on project tasks, manage deployments across various technology stacks, and drive the adoption of advanced automation practices. The engineer will also facilitate the modernization of CI/CD processes and implement observability solutions to ensure system health and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with IT Delivery Managers to understand project activities and identify DevOps support requirements.
  • Prioritize and agree on project tasks with the IT Delivery Manager and DevOps and Automation Manager.
  • Provide timely updates on project tasks through Scrum meetings or written reports.
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration documentation for deployments and troubleshooting.
  • Create knowledge articles and support documentation for the wider DevOps team.
  • Manage configuration, release, and environment management for multi-tier technology estates.
  • Drive the implementation of agentic automation and expand Automation-as-a-Service solutions.
  • Enhance CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated testing, security scanning, and deployment orchestration.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar automation-focused role.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines, and OctopusDeploy.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and automation tools like Ansible.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Background in deployment management on both Windows and RedHat environments.
  • Understanding of security integration in the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience with low-code automation platforms like Power Automate or UiPath.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies such as AI/ML Ops and cloud-native development practices.
