Overview
As a Design Engineer in the MRB Team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the product's design and engineering processes by addressing non-conformances and providing effective repair solutions. You will be responsible for conducting design analysis and liaising across functions to develop innovative solutions while adhering to airworthiness standards. The role calls for a proactive and motivated individual eager to contribute to a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Carry out design analysis on non-conformances produced by manufacturing and quality to determine rework solutions.
- Process concessions and non-conformance reports (NCRs) to assess the impact on assembly interfaces.
- Identify efficient methods for analysis while maintaining adherence to airworthiness and procedural requirements.
- Liaise with multiple functions and suppliers to deliver optimal design solutions based on cost, time, performance, and installation.
- Analyze tolerance build-up and the effects of machined detail deviations on assembly levels.
- Explain and escalate critical issues as needed while mentoring junior team members.
Requirements
- Engineering degree or equivalent with practical engineering and manufacturing experience.
- Proficient in SAP CAM, CATIA V5, DPDS, and PLM Teamcenter.
- Familiarity with military processes related to concessions preferred.
- Experience with BAE Fastjet project is an advantage.
- Understanding of automation in processes or tasks.
- Knowledge of material properties and their effects on aircraft performance.
- Experience working on concessions directly or within the supply chain.
