Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer specializing in Cisco technologies to participate in a major technology transformation programme focused on enhancing network infrastructure for a key client in the energy sector. The successful candidate will be instrumental in modernizing network solutions, contributing expertise in SD-WAN, enterprise wireless technologies, and network infrastructure while working collaboratively with project managers and technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and support enterprise-grade Cisco network infrastructure across multiple locations.
- Support the modernization and replacement of end-of-life network hardware.
- Conduct detailed Wi-Fi surveys and wireless network designs using Ekahau.
- Design and deploy Cisco SD-WAN solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex Layer 2 and Layer 3 network issues.
- Develop high-level and low-level network designs and implementation plans.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and service providers.
- Create technical documentation and support operational handovers.
Requirements
- Strong experience as a Senior Network Engineer in large enterprise environments.
- CCNP-level networking knowledge and hands-on experience with Cisco technologies.
- Proficient in Cisco SD-WAN / Viptela and wireless LAN/WLAN technologies.
- Experience with Ekahau for Wi-Fi surveys and RF design.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols including BGP and OSPF.
- Experience with VLANs, STP, RSTP, high availability, and redundancy methods.
- Knowledge of network access control systems such as Cisco ISE or Aruba ClearPass.
- Willingness and ability to travel to various UK sites as needed.
