Overview
The Interim Product Director / Contract Senior Product Manager will oversee the management of business-as-usual operations for a strategic platform during a critical transition period. Collaborating closely with the leadership team, this role focuses on ensuring the successful delivery of milestones and the product roadmap while implementing best practices for governance and stakeholder communication. The contractor will be crucial in analyzing current processes, documenting operational practices, and fostering clarity and consistency within the product team.
Responsibilities
- Run business-as-usual product delivery on the platform and lead knowledge transfer from key stakeholders.
- Assess current product decision-making, prioritization, and stakeholder management practices.
- Design and implement a transparent roadmap and prioritization process based on executive direction and stakeholder input.
- Establish clear governance forums to delineate decision-making responsibilities.
- Set up a regular reporting cadence for executives covering roadmap reviews, key performance indicators, and outcome metrics.
- Prepare for and support monthly executive and senior leadership team meetings.
- Develop change management and communication plans to engage stakeholders effectively.
- Prepare a close-out report detailing adoption status, risks, and recommendations for the permanent leadership.
Requirements
- Extensive senior product leadership experience, preferably in transformation roles.
- Proven track record of implementing pragmatic product best practices in large corporations or enterprise environments.
- Experience collaborating with C-level stakeholders in regulated and risk-aware organizations.
- Strong storytelling capabilities and adept stakeholder management to resolve complex discussions.
- Exceptional documentation and communication skills.
- Experience with high volume or large scale consumer platforms.
