Overview

We are seeking a Service Designer to support a public sector discovery project for a consultancy. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders while conducting research to enhance service delivery. This remote role may require occasional workshops in London and is initially set for a 3 to 6 month duration starting September 1st.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct user and stakeholder research to understand needs and behaviors.
  • Map end-to-end customer journeys to identify pain points and improvement opportunities.
  • Design service blueprints detailing service processes and interactions.
  • Facilitate co-creation workshops and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Prototype services and validate them through user testing and feedback analysis.
  • Develop and iterate service concepts and strategies based on research insights.
  • Document and update service standards, requirements, and operating models.
  • Work in agile, multi-functional teams with interaction designers, content designers, user researchers, and engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Proven experience on service standard assessed UK public sector projects.
  • UK-based with full right to work.
  • Strong skills in user and stakeholder research methodologies.
  • Experience in mapping customer journeys and identifying service improvement opportunities.
  • Proficiency in designing service blueprints and facilitating workshops.
  • Ability to prototype services and conduct user testing.
  • Experience in agile methodology and working within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong documentation skills for service standards and operating models.
