Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Data Architect contractor with expertise in Snowflake to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale cloud data platforms. The selected candidate will take ownership of complex data architecture projects and work closely with various stakeholders in data, technology, and business sectors to support analytics and real-time decision-making. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional looking to leverage their skills in designing scalable data architectures and modern data engineering practices.
Responsibilities
- Architect and deliver Snowflake-based data platforms on AWS and Azure.
- Design scalable data lakehouse, medallion, and Data Vault architectures.
- Build real-time and near real-time data pipelines using modern cloud technologies.
- Define data modeling standards, governance frameworks, and best practices.
- Leverage Snowflake Cortex AI to enhance data engineering and analytics capabilities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across data, technology, and business teams to achieve strategic outcomes.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with Snowflake Architecture.
- Expertise in Data Modeling, particularly Data Vault 2.0.
- Experience designing cloud-native data platforms on AWS and/or Azure.
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale data migrations and modernization programs.
- Strong SQL skills and knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with DBT, SQLMesh, Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg or similar modern tooling.
- Familiarity with real-time data architectures (Lambda/Kappa) and tools like Fivetran, Airbyte, Kafka, or Estuary Flow.
- Background in financial services, insurance, or highly regulated environments is desirable.
