Overview
As the Head of Data Management, you will lead a skilled team of Data Engineers, Developers, and DBAs in London, managing the firm's Azure and Databricks data platforms. The role involves ensuring data governance, quality, and audit readiness while executing multiple data projects in parallel, and collaborating effectively with key stakeholders across underwriting, claims, finance, and IT to ensure reliable and efficient data management.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Data Engineers, Developers, and DBAs to manage the data platform.
- Oversee the Azure and Databricks data platforms, ensuring optimization and performance.
- Implement and enforce data governance, quality standards, and audit readiness across data assets.
- Engage with senior stakeholders to ensure data management aligns with business objectives.
- Bridge legacy on-premise data systems with modern cloud solutions.
- Manage and deliver multiple data projects simultaneously.
Requirements
- Strong background in London Market or Lloyd's insurance with deep understanding of relevant data types.
- Proven leadership experience in technical data teams, including management of engineers and developers.
- Hands-on experience with Azure and Databricks data platforms.
- Experience with both on-premises SQL Server and cloud-based data technologies.
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality standards, and enterprise data management practices.
- Track record of successfully delivering data projects in a fast-paced environment.
