Overview
This role is for a Contract Software Engineer, focusing on developing and enhancing scalable, cloud-based Java applications. The selected candidate will work within a product-focused engineering team in a fully remote setup, collaborating closely with cross-functional members to deliver high-quality software solutions in an agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop Java applications and microservices.
- Build scalable, resilient, and high-performing backend systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile delivery environment.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Contribute to technical discussions, architecture, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with Java.
- Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Familiarity with frameworks such as Spring Boot.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern software engineering practices.
- Experience working within agile teams.
- Desirable: Docker and Kubernetes experience.
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar).
