Overview
We are seeking a Software Test Engineer to join a medical device company on a three-month contract. The contractor will focus on hands-on test execution of software currently in development, collaborating with the testing team to ensure quality assurance through established processes.
Responsibilities
- Execute a high volume of existing test cases against written requirements.
- Record results and log defects in Helix ALM or similar tools such as HP ALM, Xray, or TestRail.
- Perform testing on software integrated with a physical device, which may involve bench testing.
- Adhere to the predefined testing approach established by the team and accurately document the testing process.
Requirements
- Proven experience in manual testing, including writing and executing test cases and defect logging.
- Strong attention to detail and discipline in following defined processes.
- Ability to take direction and execute established testing strategies without redesigning them.
- Availability to work on-site five days a week in South Wales.
- Experience in regulated industries, such as medical devices, defence, aerospace, or automotive is preferred.
- Familiarity with testing software on hardware, such as consumer electronics or embedded systems is a plus.
