Overview
The Senior OAT Engineer will take on a pivotal role in delivering quality assurance and testing within diverse network and infrastructure environments, primarily through Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT). This contract position involves frequent travel across the UK to various client locations, where the contractor will collaborate with a team of quality engineers focused on enhancing product quality. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of infrastructure quality, reliability, and system resilience, facilitating the production readiness of critical systems.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT) to ensure system reliability and production readiness.
- Plan and execute testing procedures for system deployments, migrations, and upgrades.
- Evaluate and improve the quality of hardware and infrastructure through thorough testing and validation.
- Monitor system performance and investigate issues to identify root causes.
- Test system security and the principles associated with secure infrastructure environments.
- Utilize trends and analytics to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance processes and ensure thorough testing coverage.
Requirements
- Commercial experience in Quality Assurance and testing within networks and infrastructure.
- Proficiency in testing physical infrastructure, hardware installation, and configuration.
- Experience with resilience and recovery testing, including disaster recovery processes.
- Familiarity with AWS and cloud-based infrastructure environments.
- Deep understanding of network infrastructure, including routers and access points.
- Experience with Linux systems and virtualized environments.
- Knowledge of system monitoring, alerting, and auditing practices.
- Ability to plan and execute OAT, ensuring system robustness and reliability.
