Overview
The Solar Electrical Supervisor will oversee day-to-day electrical installation and construction activities for renewable energy projects, including solar PV systems and battery energy storage systems. Working collaboratively with a highly skilled team, the supervisor will ensure that all electrical works are completed to specification and according to health and safety regulations. This role involves coordinating subcontractors and monitoring project progress, with opportunities for personal and professional development over 8 to 18 month contracts.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily electrical installation and construction activities on site.
- Coordinate electrical subcontractors and installation teams.
- Oversee the installation of solar PV electrical systems and associated infrastructure.
- Monitor the installation of LV/MV electrical systems and distribution equipment.
- Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and safety requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess workmanship and quality.
- Coordinate electrical activities with civil and mechanical teams.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for site activities.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in electrical/site supervision within construction or renewable energy projects.
- Proven ability to supervise electrical installation activities.
- Experience with solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) is desirable.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction methods and site sequencing.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of UK electrical and construction health and safety requirements.
- Relevant qualifications such as SSSTS/SMSTS and ECS/CSCS are advantageous.
- Electrical qualifications such as 18th Edition or NVQ/City & Guilds are beneficial.
