Overview
We are seeking a Staff Full Stack Engineer (Contract) to join a dynamic and fast-scaling tech company focused on modernizing their platform. The contractor will leverage their expertise in Rust and Java for backend development, while also utilizing React and Python for frontend tasks. This fully remote role aims to deliver scalable and reliable software solutions within an experienced engineering team and offers the opportunity to influence architectural decisions.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend services using Rust and Java.
- Build and maintain high-performance customer-facing applications using React.
- Contribute to backend services, APIs, and integrations with Python.
- Take ownership of complex technical features from design to production.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver impactful functionality.
- Influence engineering standards and architectural decisions across the platform.
- Apply best practices in performance, reliability, and security.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools for coding and testing.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a Senior or Staff-level Full Stack Engineer in production settings.
- Strong backend development proficiency in Rust and/or Java.
- Solid understanding of concurrent programming and scalable architectures.
- Experience developing modern frontend applications using React.
- Hands-on knowledge of Python for backend services and APIs.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, microservices, and cloud-native development.
- Contractor mindset with the ability to onboard quickly and deliver results.
- Preferred experience in architectural decision-making and technical leadership at a senior level.
