Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect to join an IT architecture team on a contract basis. In this hybrid role, the contractor will take on a leadership position, providing architectural direction across a diverse IT environment with a focus on infrastructure, cloud, and security. The Technical Architect will collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders to align business requirements with scalable and secure technological solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and promote IT and architecture strategies across the organisation.
- Provide technical architecture expertise, guidance and support, particularly across infrastructure and security.
- Define technical solutions and architectural approaches for new projects and business capabilities.
- Produce clear technical architecture designs, documentation, and analysis.
- Assess solution options and their financial implications.
- Cooperate with business and technology teams to design solutions aligned to strategic objectives.
- Coordinate the implementation and evolution of technical architectures.
- Establish and maintain architecture standards, governance, and best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience across a broad range of enterprise technology.
- Experience in infrastructure architecture and detailed design.
- Familiarity with data centre architecture and Microsoft 365 / Office 365.
- Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM), authentication, and authorization.
- Understanding of cyber security and cloud architecture principles.
- Experience with resilience, business continuity, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Knowledge of IT architecture methodologies and governance.
- Familiarity with application development methodologies and IT operations.
