Overview
The Technical Architect will play a crucial role in shaping solution architectures for AWS-based containerised platforms, working on a hybrid basis with a prominent public sector client. They will provide technical leadership, collaborate with engineering teams, and engage with stakeholders to meet complex programme requirements. This contract position spans an initial six months with potential extensions, aimed at delivering solutions and support across multiple delivery streams.
Responsibilities
- Define solution architectures for AWS-based containerised platforms.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple delivery streams.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and offer architectural guidance.
- Support architecture governance and design assurance activities.
- Engage with business and technical stakeholders to shape and understand requirements.
- Work across complex programmes with multiple workstreams and dependencies.
- Provide hands-on support to delivery teams as needed.
- Contribute to technical decision-making and strategic direction.
Requirements
- Demonstrable AWS experience within the last two years with hands-on involvement preferred.
- Experience with at least two of the following: Java, Spring Boot, MySQL, or Aurora DB.
- Expertise in designing solutions for AWS-based containerised platforms.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum and/or Kanban).
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working simultaneously across multiple teams and programmes.
- Capable of producing architecture artefacts and guiding solutions through governance processes.
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical environments and work independently.
