Overview
The Third Party Management Specialist will support a UK financial services business in enhancing its supplier governance and regulatory compliance efforts as it prepares for a key 2027 deadline. In this hands-on contract role, the specialist will collaborate with various teams, including Legal and Risk, to improve the quality of third-party data and ensure robust risk management practices. This position is designed for individuals with a strong background in third-party risk management within the financial industry, who are ready to take ownership of critical deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Review and maintain the accuracy of the third-party inventory.
- Assess supplier tiering, criticality, and identify material outsourcing arrangements.
- Review contracts for FCA compliance and prioritize remediation activities.
- Collaborate with Legal, Risk, Security, and Business Owners to enhance governance.
- Configure workflows and manage data within the third-party management platform.
- Develop exit and substitutability assessments for critical suppliers.
- Support Business Owners through the third-party lifecycle processes.
- Ensure thorough documentation and handover for the permanent team.
Requirements
- Proven experience in third-party risk or outsourcing within UK financial services.
- Strong ability in conducting supplier assessments and contract analysis.
- Practical knowledge of FCA requirements, specifically SS2/21 and SYSC 8.
- Experience with supplier tiering and contract remediation processes.
- Familiarity with third-party management platforms, preferably Gatekeeper.
- In-depth understanding of third-party lifecycle management and operational resilience.
- Capability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders from various departments.
- Ability to deliver detailed, outcome-focused work while managing multiple tasks.
