Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a long-term data engineering programme with a major UK organisation. This fully remote role, available to UK-based candidates, requires hands-on experience in building and optimizing data pipelines using AWS technologies and dbt. The contractor will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance data quality, reliable solutions, and engineering deliverables within the data environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and build data pipelines using AWS services and dbt.
- Develop solutions in Python and SQL to improve data quality.
- Maintain and optimize existing data engineering processes.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure successful project implementation.
- Monitor and enhance the performance of data models and transformations.
- Take ownership of engineering deliverables from development through to production.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS, particularly S3, Glue, and Redshift.
- Proficient in dbt with recent production experience.
- Extensive knowledge of Python and SQL for data engineering tasks.
- Experience with ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing concepts.
- Familiarity with Spark/PySpark, Airflow, Terraform, or Snowflake is beneficial.
- Must be based in the UK with full rights to work as a contractor.
