Overview
This User Researcher position offers a 6-month contract focused on inclusive research for a government project. The contractor will work closely with a leading accessibility expert to design and implement qualitative research methodologies aimed at enhancing accessibility and inclusivity in public services. The role involves conducting field studies primarily in London as part of a consultancy team dedicated to tackling complex discovery challenges in the public sector.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver qualitative research studies focusing on inclusivity and accessibility.
- Conduct ethnographic fieldwork, contextual interviews, and usability testing.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather insights and feedback on research findings.
- Engage diverse participant groups, ensuring their needs are met throughout the research process.
- Analyze research data and present findings to inform project deliverables.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience conducting inclusive research with disabled individuals and diverse access needs.
- Background in complex service environments, particularly in healthcare, public services, or assistive technology.
- Proficient in planning and executing ethnographic and field-based research in real-world settings.
- Strong understanding of digital accessibility standards, such as WCAG.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Willingness to travel to London for in-person meetings and research activities.
- Availability to commence work within 4–6 weeks and attend interviews on short notice.
