Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect for a 12-month contract role, fully remote, within the Financial Services sector. The successful candidate will support the assessment of the current data landscape and play a pivotal role in defining the future data architecture, contributing to the development of a comprehensive data platform and data pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Assess the existing data architecture and platforms across the organisation.
- Review current data capture, storage, integration, management, and consumption methods.
- Identify architectural gaps, technical debt, and data quality issues.
- Define current-state and future-state data architectures.
- Design scalable, secure cloud-based data architecture using Microsoft Azure.
- Develop robust data pipelines and integration solutions across various source systems.
- Support the evolution of the organisation's data platform and implement architecture best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to translate designs into actionable solutions.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a Data Architect in enterprise environments.
- Strong commercial experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Proficient in modern cloud-based data architectures and data integration solutions.
- Knowledge of Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, and Lakehouse architectures.
- Experience with data modeling, flows, and integration patterns.
- Understanding of GDPR, data governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to engage with both technical and senior business stakeholders.
- Experience with reporting and analytics tools, preferably Power BI.
