Overview
The Wealth 1LoD Risk & Conduct SME will play a crucial role in the development of a new UK Wealth proposition within Private Client Wealth. Working as part of a central build squad, the contractor will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure that the client experience meets regulatory requirements and conduct principles, while also addressing risk and compliance considerations throughout the design process.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist 1LoD risk input into the design of the UK Wealth proposition.
- Co-create client journeys, product features, service models, and governance arrangements.
- Identify conduct and regulatory considerations for the proposition design.
- Collaborate with various teams to surface regulatory gaps and control requirements.
- Support the definition of 1st Line control ownership and governance processes.
- Challenge design choices that pose regulatory or client outcome risks.
- Contribute to readiness artefacts ensuring compliance and risk requirements are met.
- Provide input into programme governance on key risks and dependencies.
Requirements
- Strong 1LoD risk, regulatory or compliance experience in UK wealth management or related financial services.
- Practical understanding of FCA expectations, Consumer Duty, and conduct risk.
- Ability to assess client journeys and proposition designs through a regulatory lens.
- Experience in supporting new products or service models in a regulated environment.
- Comfortable working with senior stakeholders across various domains.
- Skilled at translating regulatory requirements into practical design actions.
- Confident in constructively challenging decisions regarding client outcome risks.
- Delivery-focused and able to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
