Overview
We are seeking an experienced 3rd / 4th Line Infrastructure Engineer to join a newly formed infrastructure team. In this hands-on role, the contractor will work closely with a small team of engineers to resolve complex operational issues and support the development of a cloud-first infrastructure. The position offers the chance to contribute significantly to a robust and secure IT environment and thrive in a collaborative work culture.
Responsibilities
- Provide support across a broad range of 3rd and 4th line infrastructure and networking activities.
- Resolve complex technical operational issues, including print server queue issues and hardware troubleshooting.
- Support and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure, including Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
- Ensure mission-critical systems remain stable, secure, and performant.
- Work across Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Support enterprise networking and firewall infrastructure.
- Contribute to infrastructure improvements and ongoing technical projects.
- Collaborate within a close-knit team to deliver high-quality internal IT services.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years' hands-on experience in cloud and infrastructure support.
- Strong technical expertise in Azure Cloud, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
- Proficient in Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
- Experience with firewall technologies, particularly SD-WAN, Meraki, and Palo Alto.
- Knowledge of VMware and other virtualisation platforms.
- Capable of troubleshooting complex technical issues independently.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Proven experience in enterprise-scale networking and server environments (300–400 users/servers).
