Overview
The Data Migration Lead will be responsible for overseeing the data migration workstream for a property management system project within a complex enterprise transformation program. Working closely with technical teams and stakeholders, this role will focus on defining migration strategies and ensuring the successful extraction, cleansing, transformation, and validation of data. The contractor is expected to bring expertise in property management systems and guide both business and technical stakeholders throughout the migration process.
Responsibilities
- Lead the data migration workstream across a complex enterprise transformation programme.
- Define and own the Data Migration Strategy, covering extraction, cleansing, transformation, validation, testing, and cutover activities.
- Act as the subject matter expert for all data migration activities, providing guidance to both technical and business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects and technical teams to ensure the target data model supports business and migration requirements.
- Develop and maintain detailed migration plans, working alongside Project Managers and delivery teams.
- Identify migration risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery.
- Lead the testing and quality assurance approach across all phases of the migration lifecycle.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in data migration for property management systems such as Yardi Voyager, MRI Horizon, MRI PMX, or Oracle Opera.
- Strong understanding of enterprise applications, data architecture, system integrations, and data flows.
- Excellent SQL and relational database knowledge, with experience in data modelling.
- Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
