Overview
We are seeking an experienced AI & Automation Consultant to collaborate closely with business owners to enhance operational efficiency through AI solutions. This role involves identifying and implementing automation strategies that streamline processes and minimize repetitive tasks, allowing team members to focus on higher-value work. The consultant will work hands-on in the discovery, development, and deployment of solutions while assessing operational challenges across the company.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with business owners and colleagues to understand operational challenges and objectives.
- Identify opportunities for AI and automation, balancing quick wins with substantial improvements.
- Build a prioritised delivery roadmap outlining expected benefits and implementation effort.
- Recommend appropriate solutions, including existing tools or custom development.
- Develop, test, integrate, and deploy reliable solutions into live production.
- Assess systems, data access, and security requirements for each solution.
- Lead delivery while collaborating with the existing technical team.
- Support colleague adoption of new workflows through training and documentation.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience improving business processes through AI and automation.
- Strong hands-on engineering skills, with a history of delivering solutions from concept to production.
- Ability to analyze unfamiliar systems and select fitting approaches.
- Experience in engaging directly with owners and senior stakeholders.
- Commercial insight to justify investments that deliver returns.
- Proactive approach with a strong sense of ownership in delivery.
- Experience in supporting user adoption and documenting solutions.
- Familiarity with smaller, owner-operated businesses is preferred.
