Overview
As an Artificial Intelligence Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in a dynamic team focused on advancing AI-powered software engineering practices. You will design and improve frameworks and tooling that allow engineering teams to leverage AI for seamless software development, while ensuring governance and quality throughout the development lifecycle. This position involves collaboration in a hybrid work environment, with a strong emphasis on innovative problem-solving in the realm of AI-assisted development.
Responsibilities
- Build and deliver AI-powered product features using modern LLM architectures.
- Define detailed technical specifications that AI agents can execute effectively.
- Create and maintain high-quality engineering documentation, standards, and conventions.
- Improve developer productivity by streamlining build, testing, and deployment processes.
- Develop reusable AI tooling, frameworks, and shared engineering capabilities.
- Establish best practices and governance for reviewing AI-generated code.
- Implement robust evaluation frameworks and production monitoring strategies.
- Continuously optimise AI workflows for quality, performance, cost, and scalability.
Requirements
- Proven experience in delivering AI products into production, particularly LLM-powered applications at scale.
- Strong knowledge of tool calling, structured outputs, and agent workflows.
- Familiarity with evaluation frameworks, testing harnesses, and AI quality measurement.
- Experience with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and context engineering techniques.
- Ability to diagnose retrieval, reasoning, and generation failures in production environments.
- Knowledge of cost management, token optimisation, and model routing.
- Experience in designing secure AI systems within regulated or compliance-sensitive environments.
- Desirable experience includes server development for Model Context Protocol and durable agent orchestration platforms.
