Overview
We are seeking a skilled Azure Cloud Migration Engineer to support a vital migration project from on-premise infrastructure to Microsoft Azure. This contract role involves collaborating with the Lead Technical Architect to design, build, and maintain a secure Azure environment. The position allows for primarily remote work with occasional meetings, offering professionals the chance to enhance their cloud capabilities while contributing significantly to the project’s success.
Responsibilities
- Support discovery, technical assessment, and detailed migration planning for the transition to Azure.
- Design, build, and configure Azure infrastructure while adhering to security best practices.
- Implement identity management, monitoring, and operational services to ensure a secure environment.
- Coordinate migration activities, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity throughout the process.
- Conduct testing for resilience, backup, and disaster recovery to validate the Azure environment.
- Troubleshoot migration-related issues and provide rapid resolutions to maintain project timelines.
- Produce technical documentation and materials for operational handover and ongoing support.
- Collaborate closely with architects, Microsoft support teams, and third-party vendors throughout the project.
Requirements
- Proven experience with Azure infrastructure components, such as compute, storage, and networking.
- Strong understanding of Azure Networking and Hybrid Connectivity.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, such as Terraform or Bicep.
- Familiarity with Entra ID / Identity & Access Management and Azure Security principles.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and operational support in regulated environments.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect or Azure Administrator are desirable.
