Overview
The BMC Helix Engineer will play a critical role in leading the migration from BMC Remedy to a BMC Helix SaaS ITSM environment as part of a large-scale government project. This position requires collaboration with a global IT transformation team, focusing on designing and building an end-to-end ITSM solution, all while working in a hybrid model that includes a combination of remote and on-site duties.
Responsibilities
- Lead the migration from BMC Remedy to BMC Helix SaaS ITSM environment.
- Design and build a comprehensive BMC Helix ITSM solution, including Incident, Problem, Change, and Asset Management.
- Implement integrations with third-party platforms using BMC Helix iPaaS and REST/SOAP APIs.
- Configure BMC Helix Discovery to support CMDB population and CI relationship mapping.
- Establish SLAs/OLAs, automate processes, and set up escalation procedures and workflows.
- Act as the technical escalation point for platform issues and manage system upgrades and patches.
- Conduct scripting for automation tasks using Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
- Support data modeling for BMC Helix Discovery (ADDM) and CMDB management.
Requirements
- Active SC Security Clearance is required.
- Proven experience with BMC Helix ITSM in large-scale enterprise environments.
- In-depth knowledge of BMC Helix ITSM modules including Incident, Problem, Change, and Asset Management.
- Proficiency in creating integrations using BMC Helix iPaaS and relevant APIs.
- Experience with BMC Helix Discovery and scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
- ITIL v4 Foundation Certification is preferred.
- Ability to monitor platform health and manage updates effectively.
