Overview
The Business Architect will join a major transformation programme on a six-month contract, focusing on developing and aligning the organization's operating model with strategic goals. This hands-on role will require strong engagement with stakeholders and the ability to drive practical delivery within a remote context, with some travel to London. The contractor will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful transitions and optimize business processes.
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the organisation’s operating model to support a shift from an outsourced to a right-sourced model.
- Assess the current vs. target state, identifying gaps and defining remediation plans.
- Ensure business architecture supports the organisation’s strategic goals and transformation objectives.
- Guide the business through architectural and operating model changes, ensuring smooth transitions.
- Oversee the design and optimisation of core business processes for improved effectiveness.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to capture requirements and communicate architecture decisions.
- Define and document organisational capabilities needed to achieve strategic goals.
- Design information flows and data models that underpin the target operating model.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in operating model design and implementation.
- Deep understanding of business processes, information flows, and capability modelling.
- Hands-on experience with business architecture frameworks and methodologies (e.g., TOGAF, BIZBOK).
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience using business architecture and modelling tools.
- Previous involvement in transformation or right-sourcing initiatives is highly desirable.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
