Overview
We are seeking a Commercial Lead to join our Energy and Utilities team in a senior capacity, focused on managing one of Europe's critical energy infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in commercial management, particularly with FIDIC contracts, and will work closely with clients and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of EPC contracts. This hybrid role includes site visits across the UK and potential international travel, providing an opportunity to influence major infrastructure projects in the energy sector.
Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial management and administration of a major EPC contract.
- Provide expert interpretation and application of FIDIC conditions of contract.
- Oversee commercial performance, contractual compliance, and change management.
- Manage contractual notices, variations, claims, and negotiations.
- Provide strategic commercial advice to identify risks and opportunities.
- Lead and mentor an established commercial team, ensuring technical guidance.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients and project teams.
- Ensure robust commercial reporting and governance practices are in place.
Requirements
- Significant experience managing and administering FIDIC contracts.
- Strong background in EPC contracts on major capital infrastructure projects.
- Proven record as a Senior Commercial Manager, Commercial Lead, Associate, or Senior Associate.
- Ability to interpret complex contractual provisions and provide sound commercial advice.
- Experience with commercial risk management, claims, and change management.
- Strong leadership and development skills for commercial professionals.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional chartership such as MRICS or equivalent is desirable.
